  • Course Objectives (Intermediate Level with Foundational Information):
    1. Differentiate key components of executive function and emotional regulation within developmental, sensory, and cognitive frameworks as they relate to participation and performance in daily occupations.
    2. Analyze how contextual factors—including environment, routines, relationships, and occupational demands—support or hinder the development of executive function skills in children and adolescents.
    3. Integrate strategies from evidence-based models (e.g., Level UP! approaches, The Executive Function Institute Framework, and neuro-developmental strategies) to promote regulation, attention, and goal-directed behavior across home, school, and clinic settings.
    4. Apply tools for assessment, observation, and intervention planning to align executive function goals with occupation-based and educational outcomes.
    5. Design collaborative, interprofessional intervention plans that empower teams (OT, PT, SLP, educators, and caregivers) to enhance consistency and carryover across environments.
    6. Evaluate the impact of executive function interventions through case-based reflection, fidelity checklists, and measurable outcomes linked to participation and engagement.
